1. A seal for sealing a gap in a housing that extends around an inner chamber of the housing, the seal comprising at least one sealing layer, and the sealing layer comprising:
at least two hard components connected by a connecting soft component, an end of at least one of the hard components comprising cuts, and an end of the connecting soft component mating with the cuts, and the connecting soft component being soft in comparison to the hard components,
one or more sealing soft components forming a sealing contour on a side of the hard components; and
the connecting soft component forming a sealing contour, the sealing contour formed by the connecting soft component and the sealing contour formed by the one or more sealing soft components connecting to form a continuous sealing contour, and a material transition between one of the one or more sealing soft components and the connecting soft component is offset in a direction of extension of a course of the seal from a material transition between the hard component and the connecting soft component.
