1. A system for detecting that a user is tampering with a transdermal alcohol sensing device, the system comprising:
the transdermal alcohol sensing device comprising:
a housing comprising a transdermal alcohol sensor;
a wristband coupled to the housing and configured to be coupled to the user in a coupled configuration and in a set of multiple tightness settings, wherein the wristband comprises:
a fastener; and
a tightness detection subsystem, comprising a sensor, configured to detect a parameter associated with the wristband in the coupled configuration, wherein the sensor is incorporated into the fastener;
a processing subsystem, comprising a set of processors, at least partially arranged in the housing, wherein the processing subsystem is configured to:
determine a particular tightness setting of the set of multiple tightness settings based on the parameter; and
in an event that the particular tightness setting does not satisfy a set of criteria, trigger an action, wherein the action comprises transmitting a notification, wherein the notification is transmitted to a second device associated with the user, wherein the second device comprises a mobile user device, and wherein the notification comprises a time in which the user must arrange the wristband in the coupled configuration and to satisfy the set of criteria.
