1. A method of monitoring changes in a structural member (SM) at multiple locations as the SM undergoes a displacement as a load is applied to the SM, the method comprising:
an antenna providing step of providing an antenna that includes a region with a plurality of coils providing at least:
a first coil region configured to provide a maximum sensitivity to a first resonant frequency harmonic number within a predetermined radio frequency spectrum; and
a second coil region spaced from the first coil region and configured to provide a maximum sensitivity to a second resonant frequency harmonic number, which is different from the first resonant frequency harmonic number, within the predetermined radio frequency spectrum;
an antenna disposing step of disposing the first coil region confronting a first predetermined region of the SM to be monitored at a first distance from the SM and the second coil region disposed confronting a second predetermined region of the SM to be monitored, which is different from the first predetermined region, at a second distance from the SM;
an inducing step of inducing, by applying a first electrical signal to the antenna, a magnetic or electromagnetic field in the SM and create a coupling of the magnetic or electromagnetic field between the antenna and the SM, where characteristics of the magnetic or electromagnetic field coupling between the antenna and the SM are associated with a distance between the first predetermined region of the SM and the first coil region, and with a distance between the second predetermined region of the SM and the second coil region;
an outputting step of outputting, by the antenna, a second electrical signal representing the characteristics of the magnetic or electromagnetic field coupling between the antenna and the SM from the antenna;
a first determining step of determining, based on the obtained second electrical signal, determining deflections at the first and second predetermined regions of the SM; and
a storing step of storing the determined deflections at the first and second predetermined regions of the SM in a storage device.
