1. A method for device-to-device (D2D) communication, the method comprising:
receiving, from a base station, an indication of at least one sub-channel and resource pool for a user equipment device (UE) to use for communication with other UEs and not for transmissions to the base station, wherein the resource pool is disposed in a physical sidelink channel; and
receiving, from the base station, an indication of at least one metric for measurement of D2D transmissions, on the at least one sub-channel and the resource pool, for adjustment of at least one transmission parameter.
