1. A method, comprising:
establishing a wireless 802.11 connection between an access point (AP) and a station (STA);
after establishing the 802.11 connection, exchanging a parameter file including non-layer two content via an 802.11 frame between the access point (AP) and the station (STA) connected to the AP, wherein the non-layer two content comprises application layer information and Quality of Service (QOS) parameters corresponding to one or more applications,
the exchanging comprising:
transmitting, by the AP, a request message to the STA, wherein the request message comprises the parameter file including the application layer information and the QoS parameters corresponding to one or more applications;
receiving, at the AP, a response message to the request message from the STA; and
maintaining the 802.11 connection between the AP and the STA based on the QoS parameters contained in the request message.
