1. A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
receiving, from a base station, configuration information including parameter information,
wherein a plurality of codebook parameters are determined based on the parameter information;
receiving, from the base station, a Channel State Information (CSI)-Reference Signal (RS); and
reporting, to the base station, CSI computed based on the CSI-RS,
wherein the CSI includes a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) based on (i) first information related to beams and (ii) second information related to coefficients,
wherein a bitwidth related to the PMI is determined based on a number of the coefficients, and
wherein the number of the coefficients is determined based on the plurality of codebook parameters including (i) a first parameter for determining a number of the beams, (ii) a second parameter for determining a number of subbands in which the CSI is reported, and (iii) a third parameter for determining a maximum number of co-efficients for each layer.
