1. A method for operating an access control device, the method comprising:
determining, for a wireless transceiver of the access control device, a wake-up schedule that controls a frequency at which the wireless transceiver wakes up from a sleep mode to perform wireless communications;
determining, via a machine learning algorithm implemented by a processor of the access control device, an access attempt pattern for the access control device based at least in part on a series of access attempts detected by the access control device; and
updating the wake-up schedule for the wireless transceiver based at least in part on the access attempt pattern, wherein updating the wake-up schedule comprises updating the frequency at which the wireless transceiver wakes up to perform wireless communications.
