1. An analyte sensor system, comprising:
an analyte sensor configured to generate an electrical current indicative of an analyte measurement;
a sensor electronics module, comprising:
a transceiver;
a memory comprising executable instructions;
a processor in data communication with the transceiver and memory and configured to execute the executable instructions in the memory to cause the analyte sensor system to:
establish, via the transceiver, a first wireless connection with a first medical device;
subsequent to establishing the first wireless connection, remove the first medical device from a list of authorized devices that are permitted to wirelessly communicate with the analyte sensor system;
authenticate a second medical device of the same type as the first medical device;
add the second medical device to the list of authorized devices; and
subsequent to the adding, establish, via the transceiver, a second wireless connection with the second medical device.
