1. A method for securing a computer display, the method comprising:
detecting, by one or more processors and a wireless local area network (WLAN) router having a range tuned to an area within a predefined distance of the computer display, a first portable device within the area;
identifying the first portable device as an authorized portable device in response to determining that the first portable device corresponds to a first individual who is authorized to view selected information;
displaying, by the one or more processors and in response to the detecting and the identifying the first portable device, the selected information on the computer display;
detecting, by the one or more processors and the WLAN router, a second portable device within the area;
identifying the second portable device as an unauthorized portable device in response to determining that the second portable device corresponds to a second individual who is not authorized to view the selected information; and
responsive to the detecting and the identifying the second portable device, applying, by the one or more processors, a rule to selectively obscure the selected information on the computer display.
