1. A computer implemented method, comprising:
retrieve a bit string;
generate a hash corresponding to the bit string, wherein the hash corresponds to an address location in the data structure associated with the bit string;
reading an index and a modifier associated with a first address location in the data structure, wherein the index corresponds to the address location in the data structure corresponding to the hash; and
in response to determining that the modifier has a first value associated therewith, writing index information corresponding to the bit string to the first address location in the data structure, or
in response to determining that the modifier has a second value other than the first value associated therewith, writing the index information corresponding to the bit string to a second address location in the data structure.
