1. A method comprising:
detecting a first fault for a device powered via an Ethernet cable;
determining that a count of faults detected for the device within a first length of time exceeds a first threshold;
determining if the device should be suspended or classified as faulty based on determining if a count of suspensions of the device exceeds a second threshold; and
based on determining that the count of suspensions of the device exceeds the second threshold, classifying the device as faulty; and
based on determining that the count of suspensions of the device does not exceed the second threshold, suspending the device for a second length of time.
