1. A method of inhibiting melanogenesis in skin of a person in need thereof, the method comprising topically applying to skin of the person a composition comprising 0.1 to 3% by weight of niacinamide, 0.1 to 3% by weight of navy bean extract, and 0.01 to 1% by weight of ferulic acid, and the composition does not include a pyridoxine compound, and wherein topical application of the composition inhibits melanogenesis and does not provide protection from infrared radiation and/or visible light.
