1. A composition for preparing a stable antimicrobial biphasic system for the treatment/prevention of hoof infections, wherein the stable antimicrobial biphasic system comprises an anti-microbial agent, wherein the stable antimicrobial biphasic system is formed by mixing the composition with an water such that the stable antimicrobial biphasic system comprises 0.02-10% composition, and wherein the stable antimicrobial biphasic system comprises organic material dispersed in the form of 0.05 μm to 100 μm droplets within the aqueous phase, the composition comprising:
a. an organic material selected from the group consisting of ethyl ethanoate, benzyl benzoate, isopropyl myristate, capric/caprilic triglycerides, capric acid, caprylic acid, oleic acid, linolenic acid, linoleic acid, paraffin oil, arachis oil, sunflower oil, rape seed oil, tea tree oil, clove oil, peppermint oil, limonene, citronella, sage oil, thyme oil, and wintergreen oil;
b. one or more non-ionic surfactants selected from a group consisting of a polyol ester, sorbitan(ol) ester ethoxylate, alkylaryl polyether alcohol, fatty acid ethoxylate, ethylene oxide-propylene oxide block copolymer and alkoxylated cetyl alcohol; and/or one or more ionic surfactant selected from the group consisting of a fatty acid sodium soap, oleine/oleic fatty acid, quaternary ammonium compound and bile salt; and
c. a mixture comprising at least 60% formic acid, 10% to 30% acetic acid, and 3% to 7% ethanol, wherein the organic material and the one or more non-ionic surfactants and/or one or more ionic surfactants are mixed with the mixture; at a ratio of 2-30% v/v of the organic material and the one or more non-ionic surfactants and/or one or more ionic surfactants and 70-98% v/v of the mixture.
