1. An upper comprising:
an upper main body configured to cover an instep of a foot, wherein
the upper main body includes a first portion consisting of a plurality of linear bodies which are interknitted, interwoven, or braided together to form a single layer; and a second portion continuous with the first portion and having a bag shape consisting of two layers, a front layer of the two layers consisting of some of the plurality of linear bodies constituting the single layer of the first portion and a back layer of the two layers consisting of a remainder of the plurality of linear bodies constituting the single layer of the first portion,
the linear bodies of the front layer are not interknitted, interwoven, or braided together with the linear bodies of the back layer, such that the linear bodies of the front layer are spaced from the linear bodies of the back layer,
a cushioning material is put inside the second portion between the front and back layers, and
the second portion protrudes toward a foot of a wearer with respect to the first portion.
