1. A non-transitory machine readable medium comprising processor executable instructions for controlling a wireless access point, including instructions to:
determine a channel-resource-consumption amount for a wireless communication based on a number of spatial streams effectively consumed by the wireless communication, an operational bandwidth effectively consumed by the wireless communication, and a duration of the wireless communication;
add the channel-resource-consumption amount of the wireless communication to an accumulated-channel-resource-consumption amount of a resource consumer associated with the wireless communication; and
determine whether to impose channel access restrictions on the resource consumer based on the accumulated-channel-resource-consumption amount.
