1. An image sensor comprising: a planar panel; a primary excitation coil for inducing a primary magnetic field, the primary excitation coil disposed about the panel; a plurality of secondary coils disposed within or proximate to the panel, the panel configured as a barrier between the plurality of secondary coils and one or more biological samples, the plurality of secondary coils for detecting a change in the magnetic field due to proximity of magnetic nanoparticles or superparamagnetic nanoparticles in the sample with respect to at least one secondary coil of the plurality of secondary coils; and a processor communicatively coupled to the plurality of secondary coils, the processor for generating an image based upon the change in magnetic field, the image representing one or more attributes of the one or more biological samples.
