1. An imaging system for time-of-flight depth sensing applications, comprising:
a lens system including a deflecting lens stack configured to image angles of view larger than 120° in an image on an image plane and image fields of view starting at zenithal angles larger than 60°, wherein rays are transmitted only by outer regions of the deflecting lens stack such that diameters can be reduced from one lens to a next lens in the direction of the image plane;
a sensor system configured to convert at least a part of the image in the image plane into an electronic image signal; and
an evaluation electronics configured to analyze the electronic image signal from the sensor system and to output resulting environmental information.
