1. A current rectifier comprising:
an antenna to receive an alternating current (AC) electric field;
a noncentrosymmetric material, in electrical communication with the antenna, to generate a direct current (DC) current via a second-order nonlinear response by the noncentrosymmetric material to the AC electric field received by the antenna; and
a pair of electrodes, in electrical communication with the noncentrosymmetric material, to conduct the DC current,
wherein the current rectifier does not include or form a diode.
