1. A system for shoulder arthroplasty, said system comprising:
a kit comprising:
a stemmed implant;
a stemless implant; and
a delivery instrument configured to deliver either of the stemmed implant or the stemless implant;
wherein the stemmed implant comprises a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a stem configured for insertion into an intramedullary canal of a humerus bone;
wherein the stemless implant comprises a proximal portion and a distal portion and is configured for insertion into a metaphysis of the humerus without penetrating a diaphysis of the humerus;
wherein the proximal portion of the stemmed implant and the proximal portion of the stemless implant comprise essentially the same size and shape such that they fit into a cavity in the humerus bone formed by a reamer or a stemless broach;
wherein each of the proximal portion of the stemmed implant and the proximal portion of the stemless implant comprises a concave taper decreasing in size in a direction extending from the proximal portion toward the distal portion; and
wherein the concave taper of each of the proximal portion of the stemmed implant and the proximal portion of the stemless implant is symmetric about a frontal plane extending between an anterior portion and a posterior portion of the respective implant, and the concave taper is asymmetric about a median plane extending between a medial portion and a lateral portion of the respective implant.
