1. A reloadable cartridge assembly, comprising:
a staple cartridge comprising a proximal and distal end, a surface, a plurality of staples, and a moveable cover;
an anvil comprising a proximal and distal end, a surface and two sides;
an I-beam configured to move through the staple cartridge and anvil;
an anvil buttress, positioned on the surface and sides of the anvil, with a top surface facing away from the surface of the anvil and releasably secured to the anvil with at least one suture; and
a cartridge buttress positioned on the surface and sides of the cartridge and releasably secured to the cartridge by positioning the cover in a proximal position;
wherein the I-beam is configured to move the cover of the staple cartridge distally to release the cartridge buttress from the staple cartridge.
