1. A device, comprising:
a processing system including a processor coupled to a communication network; and
a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
obtaining performance measurements for one or more base station units (BSUs) in communication with the processing system over the communication network;
identifying, based on the performance measurements, a set of the BSUs experiencing interference;
selecting, from the identified set, one or more BSUs to be provided with an auxiliary antenna array;
computing, for each BSU in the identified set, one or more parameters to be used by modules of the BSU configured to perform interference detection, interference estimation, interference cancellation, or a combination thereof, wherein the modules are local to the BSU; and
transmitting, to a local controller of each BSU in the identified set, the computed parameters for the BSU,
wherein the computed parameters are used in a reconfiguration procedure for the modules of the BSU, resulting in reconfigured modules,
wherein the reconfigured modules perform interference detection, interference estimation, interference cancellation, or a combination thereof with respect to signals received at the BSU.
