1. A plasma sheet source, comprising:
a gas inlet for receiving gas;
an electrode comprising a conductive core covered with a dielectric material, the electrode electrically connected to a power source configured to transmit pulsed direct current to the electrode to generate an electrical field; and
a body having a plurality of channels angled toward a center of the body for directing gas from the gas inlet to the electrical field generated by the electrode to convert the gas to plasma, the body configured to direct plasma converted from the gas passing through each of the plurality of channels to exit through an elongated slit of the body as a room temperature plasma sheet output for treating a biological specimen.

16. A method for generating a room temperature plasma sheet, comprising:
receiving gas within a first cavity of a plasma sheet source having a plurality of channels angled toward a center of the plasma sheet source;
generating an electrical field using pulsed direct current with an electrode in a second cavity of the plasma sheet source;
directing the gas from the first cavity through the plurality of channels to the second cavity such that the electrical field converts the gas from each of the channels into the room temperature plasma sheet; and
emitting the room temperature plasma sheet from the plasma sheet source through an elongated slit of the plasma sheet source to a biological specimen for treatment.
