1. A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE), comprising:
 receiving, from a network entity, a configuration of a paging early indication (PEI) that indicates, for multiple paging occasions (POs) in multiple paging frames (PFs), whether paging physical downlink control channels (PDCCHs) are scheduled in the multiple POs;
identifying a reference PF from one of the multiple PFs; and
monitoring for the PEI in a location of a PEI occasion determined based on the reference PF and at least one timing offset with respect to a start of the reference PF.
