1. A video decoding method, comprising:
receiving a current largest coding unit (LCU) and a right LCU adjacent to a right edge of the current;
performing deblock filtering for a portion of the current LCU to generate a first set of deblock filtered pixels;
performing deblock filtering for a portion of the right LCU to generate a second set of deblock filtered pixels;
determining estimated sample adaptive offset parameters for the portion of the current LCU using the first set of deblock filtered pixels and using the second set of deblock filtered pixels; and
applying sample adaptive offset processing to the first set of deblock filtered pixels for the portion of the current LCU using the estimated sample adaptive offset parameters for the portion of the current LCU.
