1. A connector assembly, comprising:
a free-end connector, comprising:
a connector housing that supports a cable;
a frame having a first side and a second side opposite the first side, the frame comprising a plurality of frame apertures extending from the first side to the second side; and
a terminal set supported on the second side of the frame, the terminal set comprising a first signal terminal, a second signal terminal, and a ground plate, wherein:
the ground plate has a horseshoe shape and provides ground terminals on opposing sides of the first and second signal terminals;
a first conductor of the cable extends into a first frame aperture of the plurality of frame apertures and is electrically connected to the first signal terminal;
a second conductor of the cable extends into a second frame aperture of the plurality of frame apertures and is electrically connected to the second signal terminal; and
a drain wire of the cable extends into a third frame aperture of the plurality of frame apertures and is electrically connected to the ground plate.
