1. A method for adjusting a parameter in an adaptive system comprising:
operating an adaptive system with an output signal with a fixed output range produced from an input signal with a fixed input range applied to an input, in which a parameter with an adjustable range with fixed precision is based on a difference between the output signal and a target output signal, and the parameter is a fixed-point digital format or an analog format;
accessing the parameter from the adaptive system;
dynamically assigning a probability distribution of the parameter; and
based on the probability distribution which has been assigned, dynamically updating the adjustable range for the parameter.
