1. A method for identifying or authenticating an object, the method comprising:
generating a first vibration profile of the object when the object has a known authorized replaceable accessory attached, the first vibration profile being generated at a plurality of frequencies, wherein the plurality of frequencies is provided by running a motor at a plurality of speeds and sensing resulting vibrations;
storing the initial vibration profile in a memory of the object;
vibrating the object at the plurality of frequencies by running the motor at the plurality of speeds when the object has another replaceable accessory attached;
sensing vibrations from the object with the another replaceable accessory attached at each of the plurality of frequencies using an accelerometer;
generating a second vibration profile of the object using the sensed vibrations;
comparing the second vibration profile to the first vibration profile;
determining if the second vibration profile matches the first vibration profile; and
determining that the another replaceable accessory is counterfeit when the second vibration profile does not match the first vibration profile.
