1. An aluminum alloy wire for use in an additive processing operation, wherein the aluminum alloy wire comprises:
aluminum (Al); and
at least 0.01 wt % scandium (Sc), but not more than 10 wt % scandium,
wherein the aluminum alloy wire has a lateral surface roughness Ra (lateral), measured in a lateral direction of the aluminum alloy wire, wherein the aluminum alloy wire has a longitudinal surface roughness Ra (longitudinal), measured in a longitudinal direction of the aluminum alloy wire, and wherein the lateral surface roughness Ra (lateral), measured in the lateral direction of the aluminum alloy wire, is greater than the longitudinal surface roughness Ra (longitudinal), measured in the longitudinal direction of the aluminum alloy wire.
