1. A sensor system for sensing wetness in an absorbent article, the sensor system comprising:
an indicator device that is attached to the absorbent article, the indicator device comprising an outer housing, an inner housing, and a hinge portion; and
a fastener that connects the outer housing and the inner housing and that secures the housing to the absorbent article;
wherein the indicator device produces a first indication to indicate that the indicator device has been properly attached to the absorbent article, and the indicator device produces a second indication to indicate that the indicator device has not been properly attached to the absorbent article; and
wherein the indicator device being properly attached to the absorbent article comprises the indicator device being electrically connects with a plurality of conductive strips placed between a topsheet and a backsheet of the absorbent article; and
wherein the outer housing comprises one or more size indicator lights.
