1. A rocking mechanism for a leg of a collapsible chair comprising:
a foot portion having a bottom and an open top, side walls extending between the bottom and the open top creating an internal cavity;
a leg receiving member disposed within the internal cavity and being configured to accept a portion of the leg of the collapsible chair, the leg receiving member having opposing sides;
two elongated openings in the side walls extending therethrough, the two elongated openings on opposite sides of the foot portion and extending at least a portion of a distance between the bottom and the open top;
at least one guiding member extending from each of the opposing sides of the leg receiving member and into a respective one of the two elongated openings in the side walls; and
an elastic member disposed in the internal cavity between the leg receiving member and the bottom of the foot portion and wherein the elastic member passes between the at least one guiding member extending from each of the opposing sides.
