1. A method, comprising:
at a base station:
determining a location of a user equipment (“UE”), wherein the base station communicates with the UE via massive multiple-input and multiple-output (“MIMO”) operations, wherein the base station includes a coverage area having a plurality of regions;
assigning a full frequency band to the UE based on a UE location within a full frequency band region of the plurality of regions, wherein the UE communicates with the base station on an operating frequency within the full frequency band while the UE is located within the full frequency band region;
identifying a new location of the UE within a partial frequency band region of the plurality of regions; and
adjusting the frequency band assigned to UE to a partial frequency band based on the new UE location within the partial frequency band region, wherein the UE communicates with the base station on an operating frequency within the partial frequency band while the UE is located within the partial frequency band region, wherein the partial frequency band is a subset of the full frequency band.
