receiving an identification of an agent associated with an insurance business plan and a selection of a future time period for the insurance business plan;
generating, by a processor, a business plan objective graphical user interface (GUI) presenting for selection a plurality of insurance business plan objectives, wherein at least one of the objectives is to grow or maintain insurance policy counts for one or more insurance lines of business;
detecting, by the processor via the business plan objective GUI, a selection of an objective to grow or maintain insurance policy counts for one or more insurance lines of business;
generating for selection, by the processor and based on a determination that the objective to grow or maintain insurance policy counts for one or more insurance lines of business has been selected, a plurality of indications of insurance lines of business;
detecting, by the processor via the business plan objective GUI, a selection of an indication of an insurance line of business of the plurality of indications of insurance lines of business;
retrieving, by the processor from an insurance policy database over a network, insurance policy information for insurance policies assigned to the agent in the insurance line of business;
determining, by the processor, a number of policies projected to have a selected status during the selected future time period of the business plan based at least in part on:
a number of insurance policies assigned to the agent having the selected status during a historical period of time through the present; and
the selection of the objective to grow or maintain insurance policy counts for one or more insurance lines of business;
determining, by the processor, a first trend based at least in part on the number of policies projected to have the selected status and the selected future time period;
determining, by the processor, a second trend based at least in part on the number of insurance policies assigned to the agent having the selected status and the selected future time period;
generating, by the processor, a goal setting GUI for the insurance line of business by:
populating a first GUI element of the goal setting GUI using first data representing the retrieved insurance policy information;
populating a second GUI element of the goal setting GUI using second data representing the number of insurance policies assigned to the agent having the selected status;
populating a third GUI element of the goal setting GUI using third data representing the number of policies projected to have the selected status;
populating a fourth GUI element of the goal setting GUI using fourth data representing the first trend; and
populating a fifth GUI element of the goal setting GUI using fifth data representing the second trend;
detecting, by the processor via the goal setting GUI, user input modifying the number of policies projected to have the selected status represented in the third GUI element;
determining, by the processor and in response to detecting the user input, a third trend based at least in part on the modified number of policies projected to have the selected status and the selected future time period; and
populating, by the processor, the fourth GUI element of the goal setting GUI using sixth data representing the third trend.
