1. A method of creating and previewing a webpage including one or more content items using a computer operating as webpage editor, the method comprising:
receiving a first request comprising a first content layout for the webpage and indicia of one or more first device characteristics that describe at least one of hardware, software, or network configuration of a first device to be emulated in previewing the webpage;
generating, by the computer, a plurality of first style rules including an indication that at least one of the one or more content items is hidden based on the received indicia of one or more first device characteristics, wherein the plurality of first style rules define how the first content layout is to be displayed on a device having the first device characteristics;
receiving, by the computer, a user designation regarding a preview status of the at least one hidden content item, the preview status being at least one of: positive, or negative;
rendering a preview of the webpage based on the plurality of first style rules, the preview identifying the at least one hidden content item in the preview of the webpage upon the preview status being positive, the preview excluding the at least one hidden content item in the preview of the webpage upon the preview status being negative;
creating a first configuration breakpoint corresponding to the plurality of first style rules; and
saving the first configuration breakpoint and the plurality of the first style rules in a style sheet corresponding to the webpage.
