1. A process for producing ethanol from a gelatinized starch, the process comprising:
(i) liquefying a gelatinized starch using a polypeptide having alpha-amylase activity to obtain a liquefied mash;
(ii) saccharifying the liquefied mash using a glucoamylase; and
(iii) fermenting the material obtained in step (ii) in the presence of a yeast fermenting organism to produce ethanol, wherein the polypeptide having alpha-amylase activity is selected from the group consisting of:
(a) a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 2;
(b) a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 4;
(c) a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 6;
(d) a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 10;
(e) a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 12;
(f) a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 14;
(g) a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 16;
(h) a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 18;
(i) a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 22;
(j) a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 24;
(k) a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 26;
(l) a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 28; and
(m) a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 30.
