1. An intravascular blood pump device comprising:
an impeller comprising proximal and distal bearings and one or more rotor blades disposed therebetween, and configured to pump blood through a subject's body;
a frame configured to be disposed around the impeller the frame comprising a proximal bushing and a distal bushing disposed on a distal side of the impeller; and
an axial shaft configured to pass through the proximal and distal bushings of the frame and the proximal and distal bearings of the impeller, the axial shaft:
being coupled to at least one of the proximal and distal bearings of the impeller, such that the at least one bearing is held in an axially-fixed position with respect to the axial shaft, and is not held in an axially-fixed position with respect to the proximal and distal bushings.
