1. A method comprising:
administering, by an infusion device, one or more medications to a patient;
automatically receiving, by one or more computing devices, from the infusion device while the patient is being provided ventilation by a ventilator, infusion information pertaining to the one or more medications administered to the patient;
automatically receiving, by the one or more computing devices, ventilation information pertaining to the ventilation provided by the ventilator;
reducing, by the infusion device, a dosage of at least one of the one or more medications administered to the patient, wherein the reduction in dosage is included in the infusion information;
determining, by the one or more computing devices, from the infusion information, one or more periods in which the administration of the one or more medication is reduced or stopped;
automatically identifying, based on the ventilation information, a change in an operation mode of the ventilator while the ventilator is providing the patient with ventilation and while the one or more medications are being administered to the patient by the infusion device;
changing the operation mode of the ventilator while the ventilator is providing the patient with ventilation and while the one or more medications are being administered to the patient by the infusion device;
determining and providing, by the one or more computing devices, based on the infusion information and the ventilation information, after the one or more periods in which the administration of the one or more medications is reduced or stopped, a first indication of whether to initiate termination of the ventilation;
terminating the ventilation of the patient based on the first indication;
determining whether the ventilation was terminated for a threshold period of time;
responsive to the ventilation being terminated for a threshold period of time:
determining that an extubation of the patient was performed;
determining whether the timing of the extubation of the patient was performed according to a predetermined rule or protocol;
providing, to a client device remote from the one or more computing devices, for display at the client device, a notification of whether the timing of the extubation was performed according to the rules and procedures.
