1. A method of treating or preventing a gram-positive bacterial skin infection, a gram-positive bacterial infection of a wound, or a gram-positive bacterial infection of surgical incision cite in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising the step of topically administering an effective amount of a composition comprising
GML and a non-aqueous gel comprised of a combination of propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, and cellulose derivative and the non-aqueous gel having a pH from about 4.0 to about 4.5, wherein the non-aqueous gel is at a concentration of about 10% to about 25% of the composition,
to treat or prevent the gram-positive bacterial skin infection, the gram-positive bacterial infection of a wound, or the gram-positive bacterial infection of surgical incision cite in the subject,
wherein GML is present at a concentration of about 10 μg/mL to about 100 mg/mL; and
wherein the GML is the isomer of GML with lauric acid in the 2-position of glycerol.
