1. A multi-part intraocular lens (IOL) comprising:
a ring-shaped base component comprising:
a first optic comprising an anterior surface and a posterior surface;
a continuous posterior rim supporting the first optic therebetween;
an anterior rim comprising an anterior surface defining at least two recesses; and
a concave circumferential outer surface extending from the anterior rim to the continous posterior rim; and
a second optic comprising an anterior surface, a posterior surface, and at least two diametrically opposed radial extensions extending peripherally from an optical zone of the second optic, the at least two diametrically opposed radial extensions adapted to fit within the at least two recesses to couple the second optic to the ring-shaped base,
wherein each of the at least two recesses comprise a geometry complementary to a geometry of each of the at least two diametrically opposed radial extensions,
wherein the continuous posterior rim is sized and shaped to prevent migration of lens epithelial cells (LECs) when the IOL is implanted.
