1. A tensioning device comprising:
an elongated, hollow shaft including a distal end, a proximal end, and a longitudinal axis extending therebetween, the shaft defining a lumen extending between the distal and proximal ends with an opening at the distal end and an opening at the proximal end;
a tensioning member having a barrel portion extending perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the shaft and a handle; and
a body coupled to the proximal end of the shaft and configured to receive the barrel portion of the tensioning member, the barrel portion configured to be coupled to a free end of a flexible member passed through the opening at the distal end of the shaft, through the lumen and out the opening at the proximal end of the shaft;
wherein, when the handle of the tensioning member is actuated, translational movement of the barrel portion exerts a force on the free end of the flexible member away from the distal end of the shaft, thereby exerting tension on the flexible member.
