1. A patient support apparatus comprising:
a support structure having a patient support surface adapted to support a patient thereon;
a first light, a second light, and a third light;
a first siderail including an inner surface facing the patient and an outer surface facing away from the patient, wherein the first light is coupled to the outer surface of the first siderail; and
a second siderail opposite the first siderail, the second siderail including an inner surface facing the patient and an outer surface facing away from the patient, and wherein the second light is coupled to the outer surface of the second siderail; and wherein the third light is coupled to a foot end of the support structure;
a display; and
a controller in communication with the first, second, and third lights and the display, the controller configured to detect if a component of the patient support apparatus is in a desired state or an undesired state; to display a reminder screen on the display and activate the first, second, and third lights in response to the component of the patient support apparatus being in the undesired state; to clear the reminder screen from the display upon user-activation of an ignore control on the reminder screen; and to continue to activate the first, second, and third lights after the reminder screen is cleared until the component of the patient support apparatus is in the desired state.
