1. A method comprising:
inspecting a plurality of variant streams;
identifying Instantaneous Decoder Refresh (IDR) frames in each variant stream of the plurality of variant streams;
determining a first set of IDR frames corresponding to a first type of cross-variant boundary;
determining a second set of IDR frames corresponding to a second type of cross-variant boundary, wherein the second type of cross-variant boundary is different from the first type of cross-variant boundary; and
demarcating the first and second set of IDR frames.
