1. An electronic device comprising:
an enclosure comprising a sidewall, the sidewall defining an opening;
a haptic button assembly comprising:
an input member positioned at least partially within the opening and defining an input surface; and
a haptic actuation system comprising:
a magnet configured to generate a magnetic flux; and
a conductive coil positioned at least partially in the magnetic flux of the magnet, at least one of the magnet or the conductive coil coupled to the input member;
a switch configured to be actuated in response to a user input applied to the input surface; and
a processing unit positioned in the enclosure and configured to actuate the haptic actuation system, causing a lateral translation of the input member in a translation direction that is parallel to the input surface, thereby producing a haptic output.
