1. A method of implanting a radial head implant, the method comprising the steps of:
releasably inserting a first tab of a generally cylindrical first head augment into a slot that extends through a side wall of a generally cylindrical head of a radial implant component to thereby attach the first head augment to the head of the radial implant component, such that a first distal mating surface of the first head augment that is opposite a first articular proximal surface of the first head augment is disposed against the head of the radial implant component, wherein the first tab extends from a first extension member of the first head augment, and the first extension member extends from the first distal mating surface,
wherein the radial implant component includes a stem that is fixedly connected to the head, the side wall extends from a proximal surface of the head to an opposed distal surface of the head, and the head has a height from the proximal surface to the opposed distal surface that is greater than a first height of the first head augment that extends from the first articular proximal surface to the first distal mating surface;
removing the first tab from the slot; and
releasably inserting a second tab of a generally cylindrical second head augment into the slot to thereby attach the second head augment to the head of the radial implant component, such that a second distal mating surface of the second head augment that is opposite a second articular proximal surface of the second head augment is disposed against the head of the radial implant component, wherein the second tab extends from a second extension member of the second head augment, and the second extension member extends from the second distal mating surface, wherein the second head augment has a second height from the second articular proximal surface to the second distal mating surface that is different than the first height and less than the height of the head of the radial implant component;
identifying the second height as a preferred height; and
implanting a final radial head implant having a height based on the second height; and wherein the proximal surface of the head is a concave articular proximal surface.
