1. An absorbent product comprising cellulose fibers, comprising a 1,3-dichloro-2-propanol concentration of less than 50 ppb and a 3-monochloro-1,2 propanediol concentration of less than 300 ppb, and a cross direction wet strength of 80 to 200 N/m, wherein the product is free from polyaminoamide-epihalohydrin as measured using an “Adipate test”, wherein all of the cellulose fibers contained in the absorbent product are non-synthetic, cellulose fibers.
