1. A system for managing computing resources comprising:
a ledger-based edge computing marketplace platform, wherein the ledger-based edge computing marketplace platform is operable to communicate with at least one client device;
at least one smart meter operable to measure edge computing resource capacity and/or edge computing resource consumption; and
at least one infrastructure node, wherein the at least one infrastructure node is operable to communicate with the ledger-based edge computing marketplace platform, the at least one client device, and the at least one smart meter;
wherein the ledger-based edge computing marketplace platform includes at least one application program;
wherein the at least one infrastructure node is operable to receive a function request from the at least one client device, wherein the function request is related to the at least one application program;
wherein the at least one infrastructure node is operable to retrieve a function related to the function request;
wherein execution of the function results in at least one computing resource transaction; and
wherein the at least one computing resource transaction is recorded on an immutable ledger.
