1. A system for aerial delivery of items, comprising:
a plurality of unmanned aerial vehicles, each of the plurality of unmanned aerial vehicles configured to aerially transport items; and
a management system, including:
a processor; and
a memory coupled to the processor and storing program instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to at least:
receive, from a portable device, a request for aerial delivery of an item, the item available for purchase through an e-commerce shopping site;
instruct an unmanned aerial vehicle of the plurality of unmanned aerial vehicles to deliver the item from a source location to a destination location;
send, to the portable device, a first notification in response to the unmanned aerial vehicle initiating delivery of the item;
send, to the portable device, a second notification in response to the unmanned aerial vehicle arriving at the destination location;
send, to the portable device, a request to place the portable device at the destination location; and
cause, by the unmanned aerial vehicle, delivery of the item proximate the portable device at the destination location.
