1. A system, comprising:
a sensor capturing sensor data detecting events for one or more moving objects;
an imager capturing, over time, image data within a field of view of the imager; and
a computing device configured to:
time calibrate the sensor and the imager;
detect an occurrence of a first event corresponding to movement of a first object based on the sensor data and extract a first time at which the first event occurred;
identify a first image in the image data having a first capture time correlating to the first time at which the first event occurred;
retrieve at least a portion of the first image for insertion into a composite image; the composite image including further image data captured at a time different from the first capture time combined with at least the portion of the first image,
delimit a first region of interest in the composite image corresponding to an area within the field of view of the imager in which:
the first event was expected to occur based on a priori knowledge of locations of interest within the field of view of the imager, or
the first event was detected to occur based on positional tracking of the movement of the first object; and
include in the composite image the portion of the first image for the first region of interest and exclude from the first region of interest in the composite image image data captured at times other than the first capture time.
