1. A method for determining an availability of charging slots at an electric vehicle charging station, comprising:
obtaining a distance between a mobile device of a user and the electric vehicle charging station using a first geolocation information associated with the mobile device of the user and a second geolocation information associated with the electric vehicle charging station;
obtaining a current speed of the mobile device of the user;
determining an available number of charging slots at the electric vehicle charging station at an expected arrival time of the mobile device of the user by using the distance and the current speed of the mobile device of the user; and
sending a message from the electric vehicle charging station prior to arrival at the electric vehicle charging station if no charging slots are expected to be available at the electric vehicle charging station when the mobile device of the user is expected to arrive, wherein the message includes an amount of time before a charging slot at the electric vehicle charging station becomes available after the mobile device of the user is expected to arrive.
