1. A system for producing a treated methane stream from a feed stream comprising methane, water, and one or more acid gases, the system comprising:
a series of separators to produce the treated methane stream, one or more waste water streams, and an acid gas waste stream, the series of separators comprising: (1) an absorber column for separating an absorber feed stream and a first stripper overhead stream using a methanol stream as an absorber into an absorber overhead stream and an absorber bottoms stream, and (2) a first stripper column for separating the absorber bottoms stream into the first stripper overhead stream and a first stripper bottoms stream, the first stripper column comprising a reboiler;
wherein the absorber overhead stream is the treated methane stream and is substantially free of the water and the one or more acid gases and comprises at least 98% of the methane from the feed stream; and
wherein the one or more acid gases comprise CO2, H2S, or both.
