1. A lawn mower comprising:
a deck enclosing a blade therein, the deck having a front end and a rear end, a pair of front wheel and a pair of rear wheels connected to the deck to support the deck as said deck moves along the ground;
a platform at the rear end of the deck providing a surface for a user to stand on, the platform being fixedly connected to the deck and supported solely by the deck;
a motor operatively connected to at least one of the wheels of the pair of front wheel and pair of rear wheels to propel the mower;
a handle assembly for controlling the mower, the handle assembly having a pair of arms extending from the deck, the pair of arms being parallel to one another, a handle bar to be grasped by the user and extending transversely to and connecting the pair of arms, the handle assembly connected to the deck adjacent the platform and having a first position extending rearwardly relative to vertical to operate the lawn mower in a push mode and a second position extending forwardly allowing a user to stand on the platform during operation in a ride mode, wherein in the first mode the handle bar extends past the platform in the rearward direction blocking access to the platform, wherein in the second position the handle bar extends over the deck forward of the rear wheels and provides the user access to the platform, said handle assembly further including a throttle assembly for controlling the speed of the motor.
